About Community Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a powerful form of health care that is over 4000 years old. Traditionally it has been practiced in group settings, with patients receiving acupuncture as often as needed. In North America it has mostly turned into a style of treatment involving private rooms and higher rates. The community acupuncture movement aims to reverse this trend and make acupuncture accessible to as many people as possible.
Patients are treated in comfortable recliner chairs, arranged in a quiet, soothing, supportive community setting. A simple and effective style of acupuncture is practiced using points mainly on the head and limbs. (Yes, we can treat back pain very effectively without ever needling into your back!) more→
“My sense is that folks in Guelph tend to think of acupuncture more as a luxury, rather than something practical, useful and ordinary. I’m hoping to help change that.” – Lisa Baird
